Time Machine – Property Prices (News from 10 years ago)

| | ,

Time machine is a segment where we look at hot topics from the past.

10 years ago property prices were a hot topic. (I know, not a lot has changed). It was predicted that over the next decade (2010-2020) house prices in Australia’s major cities would double in price.

Perth was expected to make the strongest gains over the decade, tipped to jump 12.3%. Brisbane was next with 11.6% followed by Melbourne at 10%.

Read the 2010 article here.

According to Domain, they were a little off the mark in 2010.

Perth had a declined in value of 5%. Brisbane gained 22% and Melbourne gained 55%. Please note that this is 2019 data and does not take into account inflation.
